Brand new collaboration from Kaidi Tatham, Akwasi Mensah, Matt
Lord & Dego Ranks for Dego's 2000 Black label. Mr Pickles is the first
track to be lifted from the forthcoming album due for release on November 5th.
The single is available HERE as a digital download and features two bonus
tracks that won't be on the album 'Teacup' ft Eric Lau and 'Margerie'.
Musical families always evolves along unusual paths. The synergy
thats brings people together can be places, circumstance, school, college,
family etc. In the case of Tatham, Mensah, Lord and Ranks the unifying force
has always been the love of music. Having worked together in different
configurations since the late 90's this musical collective has grown stronger
through separate projects coming together to enjoy the process and results of
creating music.
In 2010, although based in different countries, the 4
musicians/producers met up in London and began the first of four recording
sessions lasting over a week of almost continuous music. Revolving seats at
keyboard stations, drum kits, percussion, programming and more created a stream
of music connected only by the sense of joy. With a history that stretches from
the structured worlds of sound systems and national orchestra's to the chaos of
night clubs and blues dances and palm wine guitar TMLR have always drawn from a
wide range of influences.
Kaidi Tatham, Mr Mensah, Matt Lord and Dego Ranks have provided a
link between their many musical worlds. Vintage analog synthesizers blend with
traditional Brazilian, Cuban, Ghanain, Jamaican rhythms to create a soundtrack
to a new age. Electronic drums and synths blend with flutes and acoustic
guitars for another journey through these cosmopolitan worlds. The sounds
bursting into a new musical territory through timeless exploration.
